A Summary Can Be Accurate and Still Leave Work Unowned
The notes say the seller wants a callback after an inspection. Everyone agrees the summary is accurate. A week later, nobody has called because the request never became an assigned action.
That is the handoff to inspect when evaluating Avoma for an acquisitions team. Capturing a conversation and making the next step happen are related but separate capabilities.
Avoma describes meeting assistance, scheduling, conversation intelligence, and revenue intelligence. Its current offering includes follow-up drafts, CRM data entry, call scoring, and a Live Answer Assistant for real-time objection help. It would be outdated to frame Avoma as only a post-meeting note taker.
Define What Belongs in the Seller Summary
Use a template that reflects acquisitions work. Identify the property, who participated, the seller’s stated timing and expectations, important uncertainties, and the next step actually agreed upon.
Keep proposals separate from commitments. “Tuesday might work” is not a confirmed appointment. A seller’s desired price is not your company’s approved offer. A useful summary should preserve those distinctions even when the conversation is informal.
Ask how a rep corrects a mistake and whether a corrected summary also updates any downstream field or task. Editing the visible notes may not automatically repair every action already triggered from them.
Trace the CRM Update
Have the vendor demonstrate the specific CRM and calling arrangement you use. Identify which fields can be updated, what requires review, and how the system chooses the correct opportunity when a contact has several.
Then introduce a synthetic conflict: the CRM has an older callback date, while the latest conversation establishes a new one. Ask which information becomes current and how the operator can verify the change.
Do not infer compatibility from a general integration logo. Custom records, permissions, and workflow rules can change what a connection actually supports. Confirm the exact path included in your proposed setup.
Evaluate Live Assistance Separately
If live answers are part of the purchase, test them during a controlled role-play rather than giving them credit based on the quality of the final notes.
Use a seller concern with incomplete context. Good assistance may suggest a clarifying question instead of producing a confident rebuttal. Assess whether the rep can use the cue without losing the conversation and whether the advice respects your business’s approval limits.
Include capture and privacy controls in the test. Confirm supported devices, participant disclosure, retention, and who can access the conversation afterward. Meeting assistance should run within your company’s approved working practices.
Comparing That Workflow With GetsYou
GetsYou Live Coach offers in-call context, objection help, and evidence-based post-call feedback for supported calls after organization rollout. The human remains in control and can mute guidance. The wider GetsYou product connects seller answering, qualification, approved nurture, and appointments with shared operating context.
Avoma may fit when meetings, coaching, and CRM capture are the core requirement. GetsYou may fit when the purchase also includes execution across an investor’s seller pipeline. Ask each to demonstrate the callback becoming an owned task, not just a sentence in a summary.
The decision should follow the work your team needs completed, with clear responsibility for anything the software does not handle.
Walk through a call-to-follow-up scenario, or compare the other coaching and CRM guides.
