A Helpful Answer Is Not Always a Helpful Sales Move
A seller says the offer feels too low. A meeting assistant may be able to produce a polished response. A useful acquisitions coach needs to consider something more specific: what has the rep learned, what remains uncertain, and which question belongs next?
Cluely presents a real-time meeting assistant that uses conversation and screen context to provide help during meetings, alongside notes. For an investor, the evaluation should focus on the calling environment and the quality of guidance, not whether assistance can be concealed from another person.
Use any assistant only in an approved work setting with appropriate disclosure, consent, and handling of confidential information. A product’s visibility claims do not determine your responsibilities.
Confirm the Audio Path Before Comparing Advice
Your reps might use a browser dialer, desktop calling software, a headset, or a separate phone. Those setups do not necessarily expose the same audio or context to an assistant.
Run a company-controlled role-play in the exact arrangement a rep uses. Have both participants speak, interrupt, and pause naturally. Check whether the tool attributes the right statements to the right speaker and whether important context is missed.
Ask what the assistant can access beyond the call. Screen context can be useful, but it can also include unrelated private information. Identify the controls for capture, retention, access, and deletion. Keep sensitive documents out of an evaluation unless you have approved the handling.
Judge One Difficult Moment
Use a fictional seller who says, “I’m not ready to decide until I speak with my family.” A useful prompt might help the rep clarify who needs to be involved and agree on a respectful next conversation. It should not pressure the seller into a commitment the rep has not earned.
Have the manager score the cue for relevance, brevity, timing, and factual grounding. Was it based on this conversation or a generic objection script? Could the rep understand it without losing track of the person speaking?
Then repeat the role-play with different context. A seller waiting on an inspection may need a different next step from a seller considering a competing offer. A coaching tool earns its place by respecting the distinction.
Ask What Happens Afterward
Meeting notes, coaching feedback, CRM updates, and assigned follow-up are different outputs. Decide which ones your operation needs and verify each one separately. Do not assume a meeting assistant automatically becomes the system responsible for your seller pipeline.
For a manager, an evidence-backed explanation of a missed discovery question can be more actionable than a long transcript. For a rep, a clear callback owner can matter more than a polished summary.
Comparing GetsYou Live Coach
GetsYou Live Coach provides grounded next-move cues, objection help, missing-discovery prompts, and post-call feedback for supported live calls after organization rollout. The operator remains in control and can mute coaching. The wider platform connects seller answering, approved follow-up, qualification, and appointments.
Compare that investor workflow with Cluely’s meeting-assistant approach using your actual calling setup. Do not assume either works across every device or application. Ask for the supported configuration and demonstrate it before paying for a rollout.
